About Hydroseeding

Hydro seeding is a planting process in which a slurry containing seed, hydro seeding mulch, fertilizer and a tackifier (bonding agent) is sprayed onto the ground. The slurry is transported in a truck mounted tank to the job site and sprayed over prepared ground in a uniform layer. Hydro seeding offers many advantages to the traditional process of broadcasting or sowing dry seed. It promotes quick germination and inhibits soil erosion. It is also a very cost effective alternative to sod and offers a significant cost savings as well as many other benefits. Depending on the mixture HYDRO SEEDING CAN END UP COSTING 1/3rd THE PRICE OF SOD!!

Virtually any grass or erosion control seed that can be planted by seed can be hydro seeded. This includes any sun or shade lawn seed, athletic field mixes, pasture mixes, native grasses, wildflowers, roadside mixes and erosion control mixes. The nutrient rich slurry helps promote fast germination. The hydro seeding mulch helps keep the soil moist to enable the seed to germinate quickly and unlike straw or hay contains no weed seed. The tackifier in the mix acts like a glue to hold the mulch in place and to help prevent washout in the case of heavy rains.

Benefits of Hydroseeding

1. Erosion Control - Hydro seeding protects your seed from excessive rain, wind, sun, and birds. The slurry of mulch, tackifiers, seed, and soil conditioners bind to the soil. Hydro seeding is ideal for steep slopes and other areas inaccessible to conventional seeding.

2. Fast - Everything about Hydro Seeding is faster. Areas can be Hydro Seeded in less than half the time compared to conventional seeding, and because of the superior ability of the slurry mixture to retain water (up to ten times it’s own weight) you can see seed germination in as little as 3-5 days.

3. Safe - Hydro seeding is a completely safe and non-toxic method of growing grass that is harmless to kids, pets, wildlife and the environment. The slurry mixture will not stain concrete, siding, vehicles etc.

4. Cost - Compared to sod, Hydro Seeding is generally 50-70% cheaper to install (including materials & labor)

We can custom mix any type of grass seeds, hydro mulches, tackifiers, fertilizers, or soil amendments to accommodate your particular needs, or per plan specifications.
